Guest guest
The Casino - Crown Plaza is cheap and cheerful... and fairly central to everything there. You can go to Mt. Stromlow, you can go to that miniture village place Cockington Green. The War Memorial is fantastic.... paddle boats on the Lake - lots and lots to do with the kids in Canberra... Just don't stay too long. *A* I am sure will give you lots and lots of things - that is her home town - mine too, but I left in 1966!!! How freaking old am I. Gosh, I just read on the news that hunky Owen tried to kill himself... and that dreadful story today about the 2 week old baby that the family dog killed - bloody hell!!!!! Mel >> Just wondering if anyone has any good ideas for places to stay in > Canberra with 2 kids.> > We want to take them to Questacon etc for a break - preferably not > school hols but on a weekend.> > Any suggestions for family friendly locations - my daughters are 13 and > 7.> > Leah>

Guest guest
Hi Leah, I can't give any advice on where to stay, as I stay with my parents when I go home to visit, and we seldom do the touristy things, although we did love the Questacon last time we went down there. As for things to do, I think you've got enough to keep you going from Mel....and don't forget Floriade, as well as the National Gallery, Parliament House, Museum of Australia..... Guest guest
Hi Leah I am a Canberra girl too although havent lived there for 10yrs, but all my family still live there so we go quite often. I would also add the Zoo to some of the places suggested, it is a lovely personal kind of zoo and they have some great animals there. I would suggest getting a serviced apartment in the Kingston or Manuka area, there are some great places to eat out and with the 2 kids you could probably get a 2 bedroom place for a fairly reasonable price. There are loads around there, the only one i can think of is the Medina. cheers Angel > > Just wondering if anyone has any good ideas for places to stay in > Canberra with 2 kids. > > We want to take them to Questacon etc for a break - preferably not > school hols but on a weekend. > > Any suggestions for family friendly locations - my daughters are 13 and > 7. > > Leah >
