Guest guest
Hi Ingrid... you poor thing!!!! I was suffering dreadful reflux when I had too much fill in my band. As soon as Dr "Fill" took a bit out, it was gone. BUT... I then discovered that there was something that was causing the reflux, which was one of those tiny wee senakot tablets. So, I don't have those anymore do I? Get the fill out, see what happens. Did you suffer reflux pre-banding. I didn't, only since banding. The only time I suffered with it pre banding was when I had anything that had pineapple in it. Bugger, that was the end of my Pina Colada drinking days Seriously, don't suffer at all. Get the fill out, see what happens for a week or so. Try and go through what you are swallowing in the way of food and drink and even meds. Something must have triggered this problem... and you are not getting any relief. It only took about 2ml of fill to come out of my band to fix the problem. Do let us know how you get on. Guest guest
Something has definately triggered this problem you are having. It is more than likely that your fill level is too high and you need big relief. The only form of relief is to get fill out. Then stick to very light fluids for a day or so... rehydrate yourself and then little by little start trying to eat again. With me the trigger was the turkish delight dilemma, then the sennakot. It went from there... I couldn't keep food down, then I couldn't keep fluids down. Then I would get a bit of relief for a day and think - oh good... thats better, then something would trigger it again and off I would go again. I ended up with only 2ml out, that was enough to solve the problem. I did however take a sennakot one night and had a bad night... never have I had one again, and never will and have not had the problem again. And I haven't touched the dreaded turkish delight again either. Sticky stuff is bad - Mars bars, Caramel Kit Kats - all bad for bands I think. So... get some fill out, you probably don't have to have all of it out. Get half out. Get some good fluids into you and some descent food and see how you go. If the problem continues... you may need to get it all out. Poor you... it really is the pits isn't it. And I had never had it either before the episode that I had. And I haven't had it again since having fill back... much more careful with sticky stuff. Mel > > > > > > > > > Hi all.
