Hiya Ingrid

There are several books around that I know of, the one that most people had was a grey covered book. I was given it the first time I went to see my surgeon, that was 4+ years ago, have no idea if the info in it is even relevant now. There are a few books around that you can get on Amazon etc, but I dont know what the quality of the information is like. Perhaps ask your surgeon if there is a book that he recommends for further reading.

I have that book somewhere at home, will attempt to dig it out and have a look. You would be welcome to it if I can locate it. Having said that, I have never felt the need to read a book, most of my info has come direct from my surgeon or the net.

Thanks , to tell you the truth ALL my info has come from here. My

surgeon has told me NOTHING. The consultation I had before the op, he

showed me the band and how it worked. After the op, he basically asked

how I was, if I'd lost weight, gave me a fill. I have never got any

info from him at all about what I could and couldn't eat, blockages,

burping, how much to eat etc, I got no info from him at all. If I

hadn't come across this forum before I had the band put in I would have

been very shocked by the whole thing. That's why I am so thankful of

this group. I was talking to my husband this morning about it all and he

was a little annoyed that the Dr has given me no info. He even said that

without Sydband I would have been lost. I would just like to get a

book to read that gives a little more info on everything. I have

probably learnt most things from on here but there are times like this

with the blockage that I felt very lost...if the computer had of been

down I would have been helpless. My husband is coming tomorrow to see

the Dr with me, I hope he doesn't say too much as I know he is a little

annoyed with the lack of info I got from him. Anyway enough of my

ranting. Thanks , Ingrid

That would be so frustrating! I cant imagine, but you know if your pc had been down, you would have gone to the hospital where you had the band and demand they call your surgeon if it got serious. I dont think that any surgeon tells you to do that, but its what I have decided is the best course of action (IMHO).

I hope hubby doesn't give too much lip – as much as your surgeon perhaps deserves it, they still are `gods' in some ways and don't expect to be questioned, LOL. On the other hand, it might make him realise that he is not giving enough details for bandits to go out into the big bad world prepared.
