Caroline, in my early years I had the weight loss from the Stills, massive and

then around the second year I had symptoms of which you are describing.

Ultimately they found it was the medications working way to hard on my stomache.

Good luck with it and try to even drink a shake if you can or anything

containing something more than water. I hope your doctors can figure it out.

Smiles,

appetite and nausea

Hi to all and a Happy New Year.

I was wondering how many suffer from decreased appetite and frequent

nausea.

Sorry, Caroline, I'm experiencing the same thing. Since this pneumonia began

I've lost over 5 lbs. at last check. I don't eat meat, but my husband does.

He's my food motivator because our daughter suffered from anorexia and bulimia

as a teen and I suffered from anorexia a couple of years ago and went into

kidney failure as a result. He made me a beautiful salad a couple of nights ago

and it was difficult to look at, much less eat.

If your problem is nausea, there are medications to help with that. Talk to

your doctor and tell him/her how you feel. You need to make sure to eat enough

of the essential foods. Good luck and take care!

Hugs,

Thank you Barbara. I am really trying to eat little and often. Today

I am just SO tired. Ah well, this too will pass.

Congratulations on your lovely news!

C 1, C 2 here.. Wait, I think it's the other way around. LOL Boy, am I confused

today. But I got one thing right. My doctors told me they don't want me having

ANY more nausea and vomiting. I have to carry a prescription of Zofran in my

purse. It's like Phenergan only it is way stronger and does not put you to

sleep. I don't really need the way stronger but if I don't eat, my blood sugar

crashes to 30's and 40's so we have to make sure I stay conscious enough to keep

track of my glucose and eat. Zofran is what they give to people with VERY

sensitive stomachs, .like those on Chemo. MTX is a chemo drug but we don't take

nearly the dose cancer patients take. However, it does tend to give us some of

the same symptoms as Chemo.

If any of you are experiencing nausea or vomiting regularly call your doctor

and address the issue. If your drugs make you particularly sick, speak with

your doctor about trying something else. We have SO many options friends. Please

don't suffer when you don't have to. I know, I know... sometimes it takes

someone else to help us figure out we feel worse now than ever and that it could

be the drugs. For me, it USUALLY is the drugs creating " new " or other issues.

Pain and fatigue is Stills. New or unusual pain for me or anything else, my

doctor wants to know right away. Maybe yours does too?

Smiles, Caroline

We may not be able to change the direction of the wind, but we can adjust our

sails.

May you have enough happiness to make you kind, enough trials to make you

strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, enough hope to make you happy.

Thank you

I've had lots of tests on my stomach and they couldn't come up with

any explanation. It comes and goes, sometimes lasting weeks,

sometimes only days. Ah well. Someone said " You can't be too rich or

to thin " so I'll keep working on the rich bit!

Hi C1 (Yes you ARE C1!!)

I think I will go back on anti nausea pills. I wanted to avoid yet

more meds, but feeling sick all the time is not fun. I suspect I'm

slipping into another flair as I just want to sleep all the time and

I ache badly. Time to baton down the hatches for a while, I think.

Thank you for your concern.

Hi Caroline. I am sorry that you are still feeling poorly, I suppose you

can't keep milk down as that has some goodness in it. It does seem to have

gone on for a long time perhaps it may be as well to see your doc. next week

as you suggest. I don't know about you, but I absolutely hate going to the

docs. I do not know why they are not horrible or anything I just hate

going, but sometimes you just have to.

Anyway I hope you feel better soon and the doctor can help you.

Take care

Hi Joan

I hate going to the doc as I somehow feel a fraud. That if only I

really tried hard enough, I could somehow beat this. (I'm sure my

school reports used to say " must try harder " .... they also said " must

talk less " as well!)

Ate some ice cream this evening. I feel sick, but it was worth it.

Hope you're well.
