Guest guest
Hi Ingrid Stick with clear fluids until you see your Dr and get some fill out - things wont improve, I had this last week. If you are getting fluids down, then you are perhaps okay until you go to see him, otherwise I would be seeing him tomorrow! Dont have anything milky, it will cause mucous and will increase your problems. Stick with clear fluids and plenty of them. You cant live like that so I am glad to hear you are getting some out. Guest guest
Hi , yes my problem is still there. I tried to have a cup of soup last night for dinner and it caused pain again and I was up most of the night as when I lay down it was worse. I had a cup of black tea this morning and it's ok. I will stick to clear fluids then until tomorrow. Did you have a blockage too? How much fluid did they take out to clear it? I feel like getting the whole lot of fluid out and leaving the band empty as I feel so horrible. We are going to Melbourne in Oct and I was wondering what happens if your on holidays and this happens? Who do you go to to get it fixed. ? Thanks Ingrid > > > Hi Ingrid > > Stick with clear fluids until you see your Dr and get some fill out - > things wont improve, I had this last week. Guest guest
Hi Ingrid I had an over fill last week, got half a mil in on Friday and by Sunday I was keeping nothing down except a icy pole. I went and had .2ml out on Thursday and it opened me back up - fluid going thru easily. With a blockage, it might be a bit different, he might take more out to let whatever is blocking you to get thru, then up the fill level slowly. I could easily go back and get .1 back in but will leave it. Dont worry about Melbourne, you will not have this problem again unless you eat whatever it was that gave you the blockage. Try to think what it might have been - sausage skin, grape skin, corn kernel etc and avoid it if possible in the future. Cup of soups have thickeners in them, so can give you problems. So stick with clear fluids, even bonox will be better for you than anything else. And black tea is good - just stick to basics until you have that bit out. Let us know how you get on. Guest guest
Sometimes when you have a blockage, it is something that you have eaten and it is in your stomach for a while (couple of hours). I once had a blockage with dried apple, it wasn't until the next morning that it gave me trouble, it had been in there all night and then the next day I had problems. Anyway, I am sure once you have a bit of fill out, get some relief and some fluids back into you, you will feel 100% improvement and then you can think about where to next. I do feel notorious with my surgeon, talking to him last week I was a bit funny, but then he assured me that they are here to help and that we need to look after ourselves first and foremost - so if that means visiting more often than someone else, then that is the way it has to be. I still feel strange, but hey - I am paying for the privilege!
