Dear Wilma,

Thanks for your email. It is so hard to know what is the cause of the things

your daughter is saying. It could be OCD, but I have seen similar behavior in

kids with ADHD-- not filtering, being impulsive, and even kids on the autistic

spectrum. The point is that more information needs to be gathered to help you

know how best to respond. Can I suggest that you run it by her therapist if you

have one, or get a consult with a child psychologist so that they can help you

get the source on these. I am sure it is distressing to you, but I'm sure that

when a clear diagnosis is made, that you will be able to make great headway with

your daughter.
