Guest guest
Thanks TC. I saw the pdoc today. Things are starting to sort themselves out. Thansk to you guys. Wilma > Dear Wilma, > Thanks for your email. It is so hard to know what is the cause of the things your daughter is saying. It could be OCD, but I have seen similar behavior in kids with ADHD-- not filtering, being impulsive, and even kids on the autistic spectrum. The point is that more information needs to be gathered to help you know how best to respond. Can I suggest that you run it by her therapist if you have one, or get a consult with a child psychologist so that they can help you get the source on these. I am sure it is distressing to you, but I'm sure that when a clear diagnosis is made, that you will be able to make great headway with your daughter. > All best, > TC > > > > > > Hello Dr. Chansky, > > My daughter said to me that sometimes she wants to burn herself on the toaster. She is gorgeous. Do you think this is OCDish? Thanks so much for any advice you have > > Wilma > > > >
