Hi Everyone. I have been having a sad day and just wanted to share our latest

struggle. It's really not a big deal, but it's hard for me. Liam had a book

report due today. He's had the book read for a week, and all he had to do was

write 25 facts about the book. He forgot the book at school on Friday. So my

husband (I shall wring his neck) told him to find facts about the ocean animals

from the book online. He has to turn the book in with the report! Liam worked

for a long time finding facts, but I had to break his heart and tell him the

teacher would know he didn't get the info from the book and it was cheating. So

he worked hard on this, poor kid, and I wouldn't let him turn it in because Dear

Ol' Dad told him to do it! We emailed the teacher and told her what happened.

She said he could hand it in late for a lower grade but would have to miss

recess until it was done. This after he got the F on the spelling page that he

did not deserve. I told her we'd already told him to stay in for recess and

work on it. He was so upset with himself last night crying and saying he hated

himself, he was so stupid, etc. I explained to him that he is not stupid, he

just made a mistake. We all make mistakes and forget things--especially me! He

seemed okay today, but I just feel so sad for him. Hopefully it's a lesson and

he won't forget again! On a good note, he joined the choir at school and they

sang at a senior expo this morning. He was so happy to be there and happy to

see me. I was so proud!
