Guest guest
OK thanks. Just wanted to check. We've seen over a dozen therapists/doctors/specialists and I've found it helps to at least know where they're coming from before considering a cross-country trip. I guess a phone consult would be the obvious preliminary step. > > I have no personal experience with him. I'm in the northeast and we're lucky enough to have doctors who are closer. I only know of him by reputation. His patients on the latitudes support forum (some of whom fly from california and texas), speak very highly of him for his understanding of Pandas. > > I don't think he is their pediatrician. He is the specialist they see specifically for Pandas. There are only a half dozen doctors in the country who treat any significant number of Pandas cases and are willing to consider a variety of treatment options. So you don't necessarily get to pick one who matches your personal beliefs in child rearing. You pick one who will help your child out of a crisis. > > I can't say one way or the other how he is regarded in other areas of pediatrics. > > > > > > > > Hi LM, > > > > Just curious if you could share a bit more of your experience with this doctor? My husband's been out of work for over a year and Chicago often comes up for job possibilities. We also have good friends near Hinsdale, so your post about this Hinsdale doctor really caught my eye. But when I read through his website I noticed he was a proponent of " Ferberizing " (aka letting baby " cry it out " ) and a couple other things that don't mesh with my personal philosophies (my son's pediatrician is attachment parenting advocate Dr. Sears). Any input on his overall approach, bedside manner, etc.? Thanks for whatever info you can share. > > > > Dr. Kovacevic's website: > > http://www.webpediatrics.com/index.html > > > > Cat > > >
