Guest guest
Hi all, Sorry I didn't see your question as to which state this involved. Yes, it is in Wisconsin and we have been frantically trying to contact our state legislators in an effort to get as many co-sponsors to this legislation as possible before it was introduced today so that it will have an easier time getting passed both legislative houses! Anyway, according to the Commissioners of Insurance Association in DC about 17 states now have some mandate for insurance coverage for autism treatment, it just passed the assembly in Texas, Minnesota and Indiana have it, and we are working on it in Wisconsin. If you are interested, just email me, I'll get you a copy of the legislation, and you can talk to your legislators in your state to get this legislation as well. One of the arguments being used against this coverage is that the insurers won't offer coverage in our state (not born out by the evidence, though), so if every state does this that argument for sure would be moot! Anyway, the legislation mandates that insurance coverage pay for autism treatment, like ABA. Thanks, Rhonda
