Guest guest
Hi and thanks, We are switching therapists after 2.5 yrs because the previous constantly missed appts, never really worked w erp, and behaved unprofessionally - cried because my dd questioned her many cancellations and she (therapist) has " illnesses " and told me re: dd homosexuality thoughts " that's all she ever talks about anymore, she either will be or wont be, I think we need to start focusing on social skills " (after the crying incident) The feedback on the new woman (who is almost an hr away but only OCF therpist avail in the state) was that she said caffiene is good for OCD and apparently was not enthusiastic about homeschooling (which we do) and also rec. the child seek out a church group (they are not Christian nor are we) So....my dh suggested at our first appt this week I start off by letting her know that we homeschool and are not Christian, will that be an issue - what do you all think - can I start off like that? ps: The other mom did msg me back saying that it was just an observation and opinion on her part and she thinks this woman is more suited for other particular types of OCD treatment rather than " pure " or " bad thought " ocd but that basically I should not be jaded by her remarks and she is , for now, continuing to go to this therapist. Thanks for any advice, suggestions.
