Is OCD progressive?

Hello all,

I have written before about my 5-year-old son who has OCD. He has more of the

intrusive thoughts. He is a very deep thinker and a worrier. I have have been

reading the posts and am heartbroker for you all who's children suffer so much.

I also have to admit that I am scared too. I often wonder if I am looking into

my future with my son. It seems a lot of your kids have been diagnosed at an

older age than 5. I am worried that since my son is so young he will only get

worse. I know that nobody has a crystal ball, but was wondering if OCD seems

progressive? Do some of your kids have OCD symptoms that don't need to be on

meds, and are happy kids for the most part?

We did have a great weekend that OCD wasn't a part of. We took our kids to an

indoor water park and as cautious as my son is, he rode ever single slide there

(even the ones I was afraid of.) It did my heart so good to see him playing so

carefree...maybe one day his mind can always be free from OCD. If we don't have

hope...what do we have? Thanks,
