Guest guest
I am having surgery on my foot on Oct 7th. I have arthitis in my big toe and I chose to have the bone spur removed and debis gotten rid of ( I could have had the bone fused but would be unable to drive for 8 weeks and in a cast). My 7 yr old son, OCD, anxiety, SID and PDD seems worried by this idea. He said he didn't want me to have the surgery. It is outpatient and with this one I will be able to drive (although they say it has a 50% chance of working and a 50% chance of making the arthitis worse). I want to reassure him but have little info myself and have no way to know how this is going to turn out ( could be really well, might be really painful). I will have stitches but no cast and can drive the next day and start moving the toe. I will be off work (weekends) for up to 8 weeks but this should make him feel good, as he goes to grandmas on the weekends and things there have not been good for him for awhile (my dad drinks and is not pleasant). Any tips?
