Guest guest
Hello Everyone! Liam did okay this last week at school. He got in trouble Friday. He said he shouted and got his name on the board. I asked what was happening around him. He said they were lined up for something and all the other kids were talking. Then he shouted. He didn't know why. My guess would be that the situation was " too much " for him, he was overstimulated, so he shouted. I didn't get mad. I just told him that now he knows it's not appropriate to shout at school--indoor voices. I've been thinking a lot about how many kids with OCD also have Tourettes. His behaviors at the last school seem like they could have been Tourette's--making weird sounds, humming while reading, repeating teacher, etc. I don't know anything about that and will look it up, but I just want to figure it out and help him. I got in a horrible argument with my husband yesterday. He said I'd been mean to him the past few days. I finally realized that I was very overloaded. I'm dealing with psychological and cognitive changes due to my brain surgery, and I am dealing with our son on my own. I am the one taking the steps to figure this out and help him. He hasn't made any effort or shown any interest in going to appts or understanding. I told him that he's his child too, and I shouldn't have to TELL him to be involved. It's just a lot of stress, and I am mad that he's so distant and ignorant about the whole thing. He claimed that he has back pain that's been bothering him. Whatever. He'll have more pain when I kick him in the back! Kidding! Do you other moms find that you're sort of in this alone? Steffanie
