Guest guest
Kassi I to be to learned to buy of much males clothings because they offer what the females fashions does not in regards to sensory issues. I to buy of their t shirts and long sleeved t shirts often because of the material and the way they are maked. I to need of layers and loose fits but the jeans need to be of longer than my legs because hate the way jeans buldge up behind my knees and such and so have to constant pull and tug at the jeans . I to leanred to wear of them but really do not like of them. would prefer to wear mens sweat pants forever. Females sweat pants do not gather at the ankle and i to like of the gather at the ankle so need of boys or mens sweat pants. Sondra

Guest guest
I wear men's tshirts too, or else if I need girl's/women's I get them second hand so they've been washed a lot so they are softer. Almost all my pants are from dance stores or are men's pajama pants because then they can be too long. I'd rather step on them than have my ankle stick out. Ick! A young girl I know who lives a few hours from me went to the Goodwill and picked out soft stuff for me this summer, she thinks it is very funny that she (age 11) and I wear the same size tshirts. Guest guest
Kassi my Aimee is of the same she has been of losing somuch weight most think she is of anorexic and I to know she is of not as she eats more food than me or her brothers and is of losing weight. she is of fluxating of between 87 to 97 pounds and she is of age of 20. I to have her going to medical this monday to look into medical reasons for this loss. But she has always been of a small girl but not this much smal. she is of a 14-16 slim girls pants. My missy is of age of 14 and is of wearing of size 5 junior jeans and lg shirts because the shirts of toay are not long enough in the waist for school, so we have to buy of large to get of it to fit right for school. But my misst is of one who is of always having her bottom showing when she is of playing and such and we are of constant reminders of to pull up her pants/ She hates anything tight or binding to her waist but will not wear the cotton pants she use to wear. I to live in the univeristy areas of my state and so much sports sorts of shirts such as the OSU logos are of common and so I to buy of he mens long sleeved T shirts of this logo as it is of soft, warm and comortable for me. I to eally do not like of buttons or zippers much although do have a few things with them that will wear but not often. I to be of so much want a long sleeved Cleveland browns shirt but have not found one yet. I to lack knowing of the way words are used so revently buyed of a shirt here in Ohio that readed LSU VS.OSU and such sort of logo and because much speak of this game felt did of a good job to buy of the shirt but some to treased of me saying it for being an OHIO shirt should have been to be reversed in its logo with the LSU being second not first. I to lacked any awareness of this being of wrong to wear and so get upset at self because trhyint to learn to wear of some things to match the people of my areas, and find was actually logoing against of my OSU ( state colloge football team) But will still wear of it because it is of so soft and warm to me. I to most always have to wear of a girls undershirt like things so that my jeans do not rub or abrase of my skin, the T shirt is of like a buffer from that. Tonight is of ever so quiet and peaceful here, no kids tonight. My Missy is of in NY for a school trip and their school might be to get on the NBC today show? Sunday morning at 8 am. but my mikey is out with a girl friend , yes he to has of one now, and my Isaiah he works of two jobs and is of preparing to go to college this january but tonight he did not have of work so is of going out with some buddy friends, and s no kids here yet. But my grand baby delaney is of coming to spend of the night with her nanna. we will snuggle and watch of christmas shows. With all the words of lice lately it has triggered me to be itching of my scalp badly. I to hope every one gets rid of them bugs. Guest guest
I remember meeting your Aimee, Sondra. Even right after she had Delaney she was small. She and I probably wear about the same sizes if we get clothes that fit " right " (I like mine a little baggy). I was 98 pounds on Tuesday, but it's because I've lost lots of muscle from no gymnastics. Like Missy I don't like tight clothes, except for I DID like my tight leotards because I didn't notice them at all...there weren't any annoying seams. There are several colleges in my area and it confuses me for which is the right one to wear, AND there is an airforce base, as well as many sporting facilities for gymnastics and ice skating. Fortunately I have many gymnastics tshirts in 100% cotton that make me happy, so the university thing is not a problem here. Whew *grin*. The lice thing has made me itchy too. I had to take an extra shower today thinking about it! Guest guest
I remember meeting who used to be on this group, she was VERY small build, probably around 5ft even, very tiny frame. It seems to me that a lot of people with autism are either very small or very large. Allie is small for her age, smaller than my other girls at the same age, though they are both on the short side. I think with Allie it's something metabolic, she hardly grew for years. It seems like when we started mb-12 & LDN she started growing some, but since starting IV chelation she's taken off. I still don't know that she will be the size of her sisters, but I now have hope that she's getting closer to a healthy body function. Of course, I don't care if she's the same size as her sisters or anyone else, just so she's a healthy size. I wonder if the methylation/folate pathway if underactive makes one small, but an overactive pathway makes on larger. Debi

Guest guest
Just to add my 2 cents or so... NO one outgrows either sensory issues or motor issues or autism - but we do learn to deal and adjust and adapt and improve! > > I remember meeting who used to be on this group, she was VERY > small build, probably around 5ft even, very tiny frame. Guest guest
I dunno what I think. I remember I knew Allie was making progress with SID when she was able to touch the cat with one finger; before that, the feel of any type of fur would make her scream. She was 2 at the time. Now at 8 you can't get her to put down cats. Maybe she adapted, but that's a pretty big step from screaming to seeking them. I wonder if you can, with help, " grow " out of some it, but perhaps the worst ones stay on some level. I know for me, I've never outgrown feeling panicky when I get sticky hands, but I now can wear turtlenecks with no problems, used to I would nearly panick from feeling choked. I also am not bothered by pantyhose or tights, when I was a kid couldn't take those, either. Debi > > Just to add my 2 cents or so... Guest guest
ICK! Turtlenecks! Won't wear 'em. I don't like panty hose either, but I'll wear dance tights (they're stronger, and mine didnt have the foot component, they ended at the ankles). If I think about it, MOST " acceptable " clothes for women, I cannot STAND. If I have to dress up for something I look like a hippie...long skirt, tank top or long sleeve shirt with those flowy sleeves-Ive got a couple of SOFT SOFT material-and either sandals or those velvet slippers that are popular in China. Then people expect me to be a complete airhead *grin* Informal events are better. Power to the jammies! Kassiane --- Debi wrote: > I dunno what I think. Guest guest
Same here with women's clothing. A friend has me in " heel training " because I've pretty much just worn sneakers most of my life. I'm trying to improve my appearance to be a better example for the girls. The last couple of years I've taken to wearing casual dress shoes more often, but I refuse to wear shoes that aren't comfortable, I think it's just stupid. Why make my feet hurt? It makes no sense. I can now wear low heels in comfortable shoes. I said something to my friend about how uncomfortable a pair of shoes looked, she jokingly said, " It's not about comfort. " Lol, what ever, for me it sure is. Other clothing things that drive me nuts: the shoulders of a shirt/jacket, so if you lean over it gets really tight. I HATE that. And I cannot wear ANY wool. I do a little spindling, a friend sent me some marino wool. I do spindle some silk/wool mix, but there's NO WAY I would ever be able to wear anything crocheted or knit from it. About the same with linen, unless it's a VERY thin, fine weave. I have some linen pants that itch me constantly, and they're lined. I also don't like that satiny-type polyester like my Granny used to wear back in the '70s. It doesn't breathe and makes me have a static charge all the time. Don't even get me started on bras! <g> Debi > > ICK! Turtlenecks! Guest guest
GAH HEELS! I have a medical exemption from heels. For real. My skirts are mostly long enough that they look ridiculous anyway, and I'm ALL LEGS so they look BAD. But my ankles just say Um No. So it's the little china slippers for me. BRAS, nooooo! I am so blessed to be a member of the IBTC. And that shiny stuff, ICK. The only nice pants I have are velvet...once I had khakis from Old Navy, the men's department, but I outshrunk them. Wool, also a tactile violation. ANything that fits right and IS comfortable is either going to shrink or is way outside my budget... Kassiane --- Debi wrote: > Same here with women's clothing.
