Guest guest
I do agree with the power of the mind, although it irritates me when people, especially my sister's boyfriend, a doctor, says that pain is all in the head. (I wanted to hit him and asked if that hurt, but I didn't....). My Rheumy, aka Pain Specialist, sent me for Biofeedback. I have to say that was a major change in my life. He attached sensors where I had the most pain, and with the help of a program on his laptop computer, taught me how to breathe slowly and concentrate on relaxing the muscles. I actually saw the reaction on the screen of my muscles settling down. I would imagine that visualizing the body healing itself would also be beneficial, however, it's hard to imagine that for certain ailments, like my wrist where the bones are fused together. I will try it on other parts that are more muscle/tissue-related pain. It can't hurt, right?
