Guest guest
My ds is 14 and on Zoloft for OCD. Has been doing exposure therapy the past 6 months with a great dr. and this has helped alot. His main issue was school contamination - he is 99% better about this so far this school year. Also has alot of fears - fear of the dark, of getting sick (cancer, diseases), strangers, etc. etc. Bedtime is hard for him. We have been working on him not calling me into his room with physical complaints- i.e., " my stomach hurts, do I have appendicitis? " . Sometimes he will call me into his room and say he thought he 'saw' something. I say, " What did you see? " He responds, " I don't know, I wasn't wearing my glasses. " Or, " I heard something outside, is it a robber? " Does this sound like OCD-type fears? When he was younger I chalked them up to age-appropriate fears, but now that he is 14, I don't know.
