I give it in the morning with breakfast. Mine is a boy who has always been

gassy and has tummy aches from his anxiety. He says his tummy doesn't hurt any

more than usual.

Subject: Celexa generic: more questions/dosing?

Thanks for the information on generics. My two kids take generic celexa from

different suppliers. 6yr old that just started is so gassy and having

stomachaches. Also, she is so tired, yet can't sleep well at night. Her little

eyes are just droopy. I'm giving her med in the morning so it doesn't interfere

with sleep. When do you all give Celexa? Our mfg. is Torrent for her and Mylan

for 13 ds.

Becky you might want to check with the pharmacist about your 6 yr old's

symptoms, just in case there is an issue with that brand. I'm not sure if the

name is the same everywhere? Either way they may have suggestions re dosing or

when and how to take it. The stomach issues are a common side effect with these

meds, but it's still a good idea to check on this, maybe a lower dose for a bit.

Ours takes his at night, so that he doesn't notice the side effects so much.

But some find these meds keep them awake, so then take them in the morning, as

you are doing.

My understanding is that it is ok to take melatonin for sleep, but you should

check this with your doctor. Some have expressed issues with it for their kids.
