Guest guest
Yes Beth, my son did! They were terrible. I had read somewhere that footie pajamas could make them worse. We switched to non-footie pjs, and the night terrors stopped. Steffanie To: From: mbgwhenry@... Our dd had them when she was about I think 2 ½ to 3 ½ a few times. I was wondering if there is an OCD connection. Beth in Houston

Guest guest
I don't think so. I've known lots of other kids who've had them, and they're perfectly non OCD--for now anyway! Guest guest
Well, it was never diagnosed as such, but the doctors are NOW saying they think that was what was always happening for my son... he used to SCREAM bloody murder in the middle of the night. Or wake up that way, ALWAYS, no matter what...from the time that he was an infant. It was kind of a family joke (not to me but to my extended family) that I never needed a baby monitor because he woke up screaming bloody murder! ha ha not so funny when you wonder why it was like that for the poor little guy... He was at the time an otherwise healthy breast-fed normally developing, at the time NOT severely anxious in any other way baby. > > Out of curiosity I was wondering if any of your kids experienced what they > call " night terrors " (different from nightmares). Guest guest
My son did. That's the only term the doctor could come up with for what he was doing. I researched it for a while trying to figure it out. (OCD) didn't have them. > > Out of curiosity I was wondering if any of your kids experienced what they > call " night terrors " (different from nightmares). Guest guest
It's so scary that you can't comfort them. They're looking right at you and terrified of you. Liam would run from us. One time he ran out of his room, into ours and slammed the door. It's funny now, but at the time it was really upsetting. And where are these independent, confident kids we're supposed to have from breastfeeding? Ha! Steffanie To: From: hdvoigt@... Guest guest
Hmmm. My OCD'er had night terrors too! From age 3-4. She is my only child with OCD and the only one with night terrors. Dina
