BJ,

Thank you for sharing this and to me it makes sense. We don't have a therapist

as yet and I will see about obtaining one through our insurance. We are trying

Abilify right now to see if it offers some help. I have bought some books and

found this group to help me make some sense of it all so I can help him.

I have found what you mentioned, that once those thoughts get going they tend to

snowball. I have been working with him to try and redirect those thoughts to do

something else. It's just hard being a mom with a kid who wants to hurt others,

me included.

spectrum as well as having issues with SID, tics, ADHD, anxiety and now OCD. He

has always had issues with obsessions but now they have become scary. A little

over a month ago while away from home he was really agitated and said to me the

first time that he felt like killing me and was really scared. About 2 weeks

later we ended having to take him to the ER as he was having thoughts of killing

himself.

pictures he sees. We had a big issue with a younger neighbor boy touching

inappropritately and showing some sexy woman's magazine where they circled

women's breasts. Because of this my son has become sexually aware. Soooo not

ready for this!!! I also have heard comments about peoples butts, eating poop

and hurting our cat.

removed from the Zoloft and we are weaning him from Ris and slowly changing it

to Abilify. I have noticed a decrease in the comments from him but not sure if

this is just because he isn't sharing them all the time like he was or because

the meds are helping.

me. I also am the person who he confides to about his thoughts. As I told my DH,

I feel like the priest in the confessional. I can't begin to know how many

nights I have not slept well because of all his thoughts in my head. Nobody

wants to hear their kid want to kill someone or want to be in jail.

your brain gets stuck. He likes reading that one.

has similar thoughts and how you deal with everything. Also, my BIL is out on

disability from OCD and my DH has been treated for it.
