Guest guest
I'm , wife to Chip, lifestyle of learning mom to 3 children 16yog, 12 yog, 7yob. My girls have learned how to milk and garden right along with me and my son is just now tall enough to milk and I'm sure will have the stamina now for it this season as well. We garden chemically free, have a small orchard, raise poultry, nubian/alpine cross dairy goats, french angora rabbits, dutch rabbits, new zealands and lots of flowers on 2.4 acres in NE OK. We're ready to get a larger place now that my husband has grown used to the idea of all these critters and healthier food. Since living here, I've learned to use bio- intensive methods, milk animals, shear sheep, butcher goat wethers, butcher ducks, butcher turkeys, butcher chickens, make butter, make soft and hard cheeses, build hoophouses, and to teach others as I go. We'd love to find a larger property where we could have young people come and apprentice and learn a way of life other than the american rat race. I've had quite a few health problems over the years, and been trying to regain my health and energy since the fall of 2001. Nutritional supplements, Kefir, lacto-fermented vegetables, raw goat milk, drug free meats, and prayer have restored my quality of life. I'm still trying to get over what a chiropractor says is a slow liver and an internal fungus problem. We had mold in our home due to a leak at the kitchen sink and were in the house for 4 or 5 months with it before we figured out that was making me so sick. My own recovery of my mind and energy is a testimony to the good of raw milk. I was one who hadn't drunk milk straight as a beveredge in many years because I didn't know that raw goat milk is such a different product from the adulterated white stuff they sell you as milk in supermarkets. I read Dr. Bernard Jensen's goat milk magic AFTER I had gotten quite a bit of relief from drinking goat milk kefir. That convinced me to try drinking goat milk freshly strained and still warm once I had my own goats. It was hard at first psychologically to drink warm milk, but after a few days of an appreciable improvement in my general sense of well being and energy levels, I was hooked.
