Guest guest
My 7yr old daughter with Asperger's, ADHD, & OCD is on Zoloft 25mg for almost a year now. Her OCD was quite severe before she went on the OCD. Zoloft helped tremendously with anxiety and OCD symptoms. However, now she has an aversion to the #6 and she has to do a counting ritual after hearing or saying the #6. She said this started around the time she turned 7 years old. This wasn't a big deal until today she attacked her 4yr old brother because he was counting some things on a poster over and over again and he kept saying the #6 as he was counting. She was trying to play a computer game, but was being distracted by hearing him say the #6 and she had to compulse (count) when hearing it so she couldn't focus on her game. This made her angry, I guess. She first began screaming at him to stop, but when he wouldn't, she attacked him and hurt him. She has an appt. with her psychiatrist this Monday for a med check. Any suggestions ? I really do not want to up her Zoloft dose or start any new meds. I hate to do that and I don't think my hubby would agree anyway (he's out to sea right now). Is there anything I can do to help her get over this aversion to the #6? Misty
