Guest guest
, Thanks! I'm hoping they were evacuated safely and are just out of range of communication now. The smoke is much better now, but for a time it was just unbearable. Literally you could not see three feet in front of you. Lord knows how many toxins we will be breathing in for weeks to come! Hey, I know... if everyone wants to help, do a RAIN DANCE! Wouldn't that be some miracle? It rained last week....why not now?? Take care! > I understand you've got quite the support group down there. Guest guest
Yeah, TACA is doing a great job down here. It's great to have so many resources in place! Chef is wanted by the screaming hordes and then will be coming home from school soon. Wish me luck! Guest guest
Debi…I’m right there with you for your ideas. I’ve always wished we could take flood waters and pump them to drought areas. _____ From: Autism_in_Girls [mailto:Autism_in_Girls ] On Behalf Of Debi Sent: Tuesday, October 23, 2007 11:06 AM To: Autism_in_Girls Subject: Re: roll call for CA members Ya'll know how I sit & think about stuff. I got to thinking yesterday it's too bad you all don't have a boat fleet that could pump from the ocean shore. Here's the wild one too, I got to wondering if they could make some sort of piping/pumping from the ocean so when conditions are at the peak you could have salt water sprinklers around the danger zones to saturate the areas with water to prevent the outbreaks. I know, crazy, lol, but I couldn't help but think about it. Of course, I'm sure salt water would not be good for a lot of the vegetation, either. Just seems sad to have all that water from the shoreline sitting while these fires blaze away. But with all the fire destruction every few yrs, there has to come a point when something like that expense wise would have to be cheaper than rebuilding multimillion dollar homes over & over, not to mention homeowner's insurance rates! We opened up our home to autistic families and we've now got 5 autistic kids and probably 3 more coming later today. Fortunately is at school or else I think she would be completely overwhelmed. I'll try to help her cope later, but these kids need a safe environment amid all this chaos. > Of course, > I'm sure salt water would not be good for a lot of the vegetation, > either.
