Hi folks,

It's been months and months since I've posted. Although my 14 year old daughter

has responded well to her SSRI, I have continued my research into alternative

approaches to anxiety in the hopes of discovering The Thing in our genes that

needs to be balanced out (for my sake as well as for hers). I have not made any

definitive discoveries yet. But I've discovered a couple of books that I want to

share with the group.

Depression Free Naturally

0345435176)

Don't let the title mislead you: it covers all sorts of mood issues including

OCD. The book buries you in enough detail that you'll be tempted to throw in the

towel and go to the author's clinic, which I'm sure costs a fortune. But I think

most of the supplements recommended can be experimented with safely as long as

you use common sense (e.g., some things like Manganese _can_ cause toxic

reactions -- caveat emptor). If nothing else, it contains a ton of useful

information.

Anxiety: Orthomolecular Diagnosis and Treatment

I just ordered this one so I can't say yet how good it is, but there's plenty of

preview material on Amazon. It's the only one of the books in this genre that I

could find that is specifically targeted for anxiety.
