Thank you so much to all who responded about our upcoming trip to Disneyland. I

have to say my husband and I are just about as excited as the kids!

Thanks again for all of the great advice!

Hi Debi,

It sounds like a fun day. We are going to Disneyland in 23 days with our 5

sounds, noises and smells seem to bother Allie? Anyone else been to Disneyland

and

have tips?

What fun! Wow if I could give anyone Disney advice, it's to pick up the

most fabulous and helpful guide I'll ever have. It's called " The Unofficial

Guide to Disneyland " (they have the same thing for Disney World too of

course).

They come out with an updated volume every year and I will never, ever, go

w/o one! ~Sandi

~It includes an evaluation of every single ride, rates ride-ability for

individual age groups from toddler to retiree, and adds personal comments

about

the ride by parents and other riders. We found it extremely accurate and easy

to adjust for our daughter by using effective emotional age rather than

chronological age. You'll have advance warning about any ride that will be

closed for maintenance or renovation.

~There are insider tips to getting on rides faster. We never waited more

than 10 minutes for any ride - and we went for 5 days during Easter break,

which they say is the 2nd busiest time of the year. When we followed their

tips,

we just didn't need a special pass.

~They include an awe inspiring amount of practical info, like a table of

exactly how long it will take for a Disney tram to get you from any one spot

in

the park to another, how many days in advance they open reservations for

special opportunities like the breakfast with all the Disney princesses in the

castle and how fast it will sell out.

~I can't even begin to describe how every single aspect and detail of a

Disney trip was anticipated and advised on. By the second day we called it

" The

Great Big Book of Everything, With Everything Inside " LOL It saved us hours

and hours of time, and there is no way to calculate how much aggravation!

I bought mine at & Noble. All the online places I look for it lead

back there, so it may be exclusive.

Here are some links, I'm going to see if I can figure out how you guys get

these to go through.

I think some of the sounds bothered her at times, but I couldn't tell

you exactly which ones or what type of sound. I think some of the food

booths maybe got to her a little, but it may have been hunger. Once

she got her $5 fries & $3 bottle of water she was good to go.

I think I've read Disneyland doesn't allow outside food? I would

suggest if you can to bring in snacks. I wish we had done that at the

fair, would have saved us $$ if nothing else.

We brought food to Disneyland. You can't bring it inside the park. There are

picnic benches outside the park. We didn't want to take the time to walk all

the way out to our cars, then go back to the benches, then back to the cars.

So, we ended up eating at the cars, which turned out to be just fine. Sure

saved us a fortune!

Hi --

We take food to Disneyland everytime we go. We carry a backpack with

food in it and when we get hungry we sit down anywhere and eat. No one

has ever said anything to us or given us a dirty look or anything, and

we see a lot of other families doing it too. We went to Disneyland 28

times last year -- after spending a zillion dollars the first trip on

food, we brought food the next 27. Also, if we bring snacks then I know

that wherever we are my son will have something to eat that he likes

(picky eater.)

On the website it says no outside food. Do they check backpacks or what? How

have you managed to bring food in? I would love to also. Just curious how it

worked for you. Thanks!

They do check backpacks for security reasons, but they're looking for weapons,

not food. We've brought in snacks, rice milk, juices. Not a big cooler or

anything, just discreet about it and have never had a problem. If they do

question it, I would say that your child has medical needs and is on a limited

diet.

We've taken food in also & never had a problem. It is expensive, but there

are places that serve GFCF foods, so you don't have to bring it, but if you

want to, you can. Like others have said, they check for weapons & stuff,

never had any problem with foods.

They've checked our backpacks in the security line out front and passes

us through, every time. They saw the food but they were looking for

security violations. Nobody even blinked or looked twice at us in the

security lines or anywhere else in the park. That was last year and I'm

pretty sure their policy was the same then. You can always try it --

the worst you'll have to do is throw away your snacks. But like I said,

we did it a lot and so did a lot of other people. Most of the time I

follow the rules to the letter, but their food is outrageously priced.

It would have cost us $80 each time we went. We also brought two

bottles of water which we refilled at water faucets. Good luck!

Hi , My daughter is 6 and has HFA we have an annual pass to

Disneyland in Anaheim and go 6-8 times a year. Is your child o.k.

with the automatic toilet? That was the biggest obstacle we had to

overcome. We are still working on it. On Mainstreet is where most of

the " regular " bathrooms are. If you go into the nurses station also

located on Mainstreet before you get to the Plaza restaurant and on

your right, the nurses will let you daughter use their restroom.

It's just a big bathroom and one toilet. It reminds my duaghter of

being at home.

Also if your children are scared of the fireworks and some of the

louder rides you can ask them for earplugs for the kids!!

Get the disability pass for your child!! Absolute must for children

on the spectrum and no waiting in practically all of the rides.

FYI....NEMO is a little scary for the younger ones and is dark most

of the time.

If I posted stuff that has already been acknowledged sorry! I did

not catch it.

Thank you so much for the great advice! I really appreciate it.

Take care,

Re: the fair today

Hi , My daughter is 6 and has HFA we have an annual pass to

Disneyland in Anaheim and go 6-8 times a year. Is your child o.k.

with the automatic toilet? That was the biggest obstacle we had to

overcome. We are still working on it. On Mainstreet is where most of

the " regular " bathrooms are. If you go into the nurses station also

located on Mainstreet before you get to the Plaza restaurant and on

your right, the nurses will let you daughter use their restroom.
