It's PANDAS

Hello - I am just posting to share some news. I took my son to see Dr.

Bouboulis in CT and he was diagnosed with PANDAS!! It was quite surreal. We

talked at length and I gave a history of the past few years for us, and it all

seeemed clear to the doctor. I thought - really? that's it...you just know? I

mean don't get me wrong, it was exciting news, but just shocking to have it

presented so quickly. I guess I thought I would be waiting and waiting to hear

something. Anyway - it was so emotional - the first time in so long that my son

has had some hope regarding his OCD. The doctor inidcated that treating this

now will potentially get rid of most of his symptoms. That was so exciting and

scary at the same time. I don't want my son to get his hopes up (ours either)

but the thought of him having some relief form this pain was just overwheleming.

My son just kept thanking me for e going to this doctor and helping him. So

from here we have done a bunch of blood tests and just sent in the Cunningham

test. I don't know that I have the clearest pictiure of what this is all about,

but I think it will give us some direction for treatment. We go back to see Dr.

Bouboulis on Monday. he wants tosee the whole family to treat all infections

that may be lingering. It should be interesting! So - if anyone has any

insight after having already gone through this I would love any advice!! Thanks
