Guest guest
It's funny you ask, she blames it on cotton, but every thing we own has a poly blend, even if small. I keep telling her cotton is the best for her body. Do you know where 100% cotton bras can be got? Debi > > > Is it happening in 100% cotton? Guest guest
This is exactly why I joined this group. My daughter doesn't have much functional speech and she is also starting puberty. With your daughter being more verbal, I appreciate your emails because it gives me a glimpse into what my daughter is feeling. About six months ago she was also complaining of her breasts hurting but the way she did it was to touch her own breast and then the squeeze the breasts of her aid. She also did some odd things such as hum the door frame and sexually rubbing on the carpet. Unfortunately, the school took this behavior to indicate sexual abuse and called Child Protection Services. I encouraged the case manager to speak with a psychologist to confirm that this is normal behavior. As well we had plenty of documentation that she has always been inappropriate with touching and her own body. So, the investigation didn't last long but it did open an opportunity for the state to pay for a behavior specialist to help the school handle difficult behaviors. Since she is also transitioning to middle school the addition of this specialist to aid the school is ideal. She is helping with move and acclimation of my daughter to the new school. (the new school offered us ESY (summer school) so my daughter can get used to her new teacher and new school while the middle school is empty and less stimulating). Guest guest
This could not have come at the most proper time for us. I only write occasionally, but I do read everyday. Usually, I just lurk, but my daughter, age 10, must have gained I am going to guess 10-15 pounds over the course of this past school year. She is just started to " bud " as well, everytime she showers I try to get a look under her arms, waiting for the hair to begin. She does have a " few " pubic hairs at this point. I have bought the book, " The Caring and Keeping of You " for girls from the American Girl series, someone had suggested it, I can't remember who. She and I have read just some parts of it, I do let her look at the pictures, she giggles at some, and gets very quiet at others. I do believe she does undesrtand that her body is going to change, but she also keeps telling me, that she doesn't want to grow up either. I think she is wise beyond her years for that comment. So, I just thought that I would chime in here with my 2 cents.....Jodi and from NJ

Guest guest
Jockey has one that is mostly cotton (maybe 5 percent spandex) where the elastic band is covered in fabric, so the latex or elastic does not directly touch the skin. > > > > > > Is it happening in 100% cotton? Guest guest
Christy, this is unfortunately what happens way too many times with our girls. For some reason, it's considered okay if a little boy rubs his private area, but if a girl does it it's automatically sexual abuse. As many of us have found out from this board, it's extremely common in little girls, even toddlers, with ASD. Of course, it can be from abuse, so it can be scary to witness it, but I really wish educators would educate them in what " normal " behavior in autism really is. Guest guest
What does " reigning " them mean? I to try to follow this but could not understand it. Reigning to me means to rule as a queen or king so cant understand how this relates to bras. Sondra girls don't understand the importance of reigning them And.... there are many women who dont like to wear them to my understanding. lol on > the reigning them in. Guest guest
reigning them also refers to horses or such when you control them using reigns. so there is a figure of speech " reigning them in " means to keep whatever the them is under tight control. it doesn't always refer to bras and boobs, it could refer to people actually, I have most often heard this figure of speech used about unruly or wound up children sondra wrote: What does " reigning " them mean? Guest guest
You're on the right track Sondra, think of it like this, a queen or king rules over people, and therefore have control over them. That's what she meant. When you wear a bra you keep comtrol of them, if not, they kind of go where they want to. If I could I wouldn't wear a bra, but after a while I get sore from not wearing it. sondra wrote: What does " reigning " them mean? I to try to follow this but could not understand it. Guest guest
Crystal thanks to share this to me. Now I to know why it is of important for girls to wear of bras never understood of it but took the rule rigidly and have worn of one much of the life of me except to sleep which I to not wear one. So the bra contols the breast from to get sore and be to not be to stay in place. One to tell me if one does not wear tehm the breast will stretch and be to fall down to the tummy much and this maked of me feared but then another telled me that happens from age not bras. they to say once you become of a mom it is of a natural process of aging, I to thinked it was of a bra for keeping the breast to not fall down to the tummy for years. There are many things in true I to lack awareness to and just do them because was told too and never explained to me why. I to guess many just assume we with autism will get it by observations but for me I to not learn that way I to need to know the logic to understand it more internally. Guest guest
Sondra, I don't wear a bra at night, and sometime if I'm staying around the house I don't bother putting one on either. The breasts sagging (stretching to the tummy) is from age, there is no bra out there that will stop that. If there was one, they would be bought up faster than they could make them! sondra wrote: Crystal thanks to share this to me.
