Guest guest
I wonder if this has anything to do with the Oprah thing... ‘Oprah Winfrey’s The Big Give’ gets big-time backing from reality show vets What's Oprah up to this time? Looks as if Oprah Winfrey is giving this newfangled reality TV thing a spin – but only if the most credible people in the genre have her back. Seems the talk show queen’s production company, Harpo, has snagged The Amazing Race creators to exec-produce Oprah Winfrey’s The Big Give. It will be the first competition-based reality show Bert Van Munster and Elise Doganieri have produced since the four-time Emmy-winning Race launched in 2001. The Big Give will hand 10 people a pantload of money and resources, which they will then use to help others in “dramatic and emotional” ways. The contestants are eliminated each week, with the winner getting his or her wildest wish granted. Think feel-good TV along the lines of Three Wishes and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition: lots of crying, raw emotion and life-changing drama wrapped in a big red bow of Oprah’s approval. The Big Give, which has been flagged for eight episodes for ABC, is just one of two unscripted projects Harpo set up at the network last December. Both ABC and Harpo are frustratingly tight-lipped about production details, but you can expect the series to air later this year. > >Reply-To: Autism_in_Girls >To: Autism_in_Girls >Subject: Oprah looking for children with AUTISM >Date: Thu, 29 Mar 2007 23:45:26 -0000 > >OPRAH, wants Families of autistic children from Chicago >I saw this posted on a bulletin and thought I'd pass it along to anyone >interested.
