Guest guest
I started a monthly ASA-sponsored class for newly-diagnosed families in my area. The night before the meeting we went to Craig's job to put together the binders. Dinah fell asleep in the board room watching Sponge Bob & I had helping me with the assembly. I asked Allie if she wanted to help, she said, " YES! " First she watched the copier print, then she helped Craig with the 3-hole punch. Then she put the different sections in. Well, tonight we found her here at home with a stack of paper, the small 3-hole punch & a binder. She was taking a piece of paper, writing an upper-case & lower-case letter, 3-hole punching it, and putting it in the binder. It was SO CUTE! She's continuing to make this huge surge in communication, socialization, and happiness. I think it's probably the paxil, but could be some other biomed stuff including some chelation. We went to the dog park Sunday & a lady from one of my classes was there with her dog. We talked then left. When we got in the van Allie said, " You talked to your friend? " This was VERY spontaneous for her. She also goes through the list of cats we've had/have and gives them family names like, " Claws is the grandma, Tigger is the grandpa... " even though Claws & Tigger are both dead and were never related. She sees the age progression just like a typical family. She's also following directions very well and no longer crying about going to school. It's so strange, when she's on an SSRI she seems to not have the auditory problems/pain that she does when she's not taking it. Debi
