Guest guest
Allie has been playing this game on americangirl.com about cooking muffins. It's a game to teach time, but she likes to leave the muffins in too long to hear the woman say, " Oh no! The muffins are burning! " So she said it all day Saturday & after supper I told her we were gonna make muffins. She stood in the chair at the mixer & I pointed out all the wet ingredient fractions on the cup. Thing is, I have a 2 cup measuring cup, lol, I kept wondering if that was giving her any lesson! She's been having math problems, admin suggested we do stuff like this at home to help teach her. I guess I need to get a 1 cup liquid measuring cup. But she had a blast. She kept laughing through the whole thing. We made them real blueberry, just like the game. I pulled them out (even though they weren't burnt) and said, " Oh no! The muffins are burning! " She laughed so hard she nearly fell over & Jess & Dinah came running, they were afraid they wouldn't be any good! I was hoping Allie would eat it, I don't think she ever took a bite, she told it was yucky. <sigh> I thought it might be a moment to get her to eat something new, something semi-healthy. At least we had fun.

Guest guest
Hey, speaking of Python (gotta love 'em), have any of you seen the musical " Spamalot " ? We have tickets, and Allie (who will be age 12 by then) loves comedy and wants to go. She has been to the theater fairly often, and seen Lion King, Beauty & the Beast, Seussical, All Shook Up, Wlicked, etc. But, on this one the commercials look pretty raunchy to me (as might be expected). Can anyone give me their informed opinion, I hope? I'm a conservative mom, and she's not allowed to see PG -13 movies yet, although we're beginning to vet them to see if on a one by one basis we might make an exception. Spiderman 3 has not made the cut, much to her chagrin! Sandi Houston In a message dated 5/4/2007 5:48:12 A.M.
