Having lived in CA, then IL, & now AZ, I must say I like it here the best.

Since I like the sun, AZ is great for that. When I lived in IL, there were

no services & no active parents groups in Urbana & no resources. (CA was

pre autism).

In AZ, I have found many active & involved parents who are very

knowledgeable & working hard to actively recover their kids in many

different ways.

SARRC is a looking professional agency with lots (relatively speaking, b/c

when is it evver enough $) of corporate connections b/c it is run by a mom

who owns her own PR company. Their research focus is mostly genetics

related with T-Gen, a major genetics research company. The biggest thing is

that they actively DISCOURAGE parents about biomedical, & I have heard that

said repeatedly from other parents. I don't think any group that is a

referral/resource agency should say what is good or not for parents; they

should offer the info & let the parents decide & not hide/withhold info to

the parents. I may not agree with dolphin therapy as a major treatment

modality, for example, but I wouldn't actively NOT give out the info if it

came up. (Of what little I know)

There is a lot to offer here in AZ, I think, & lots more to do to make it

better for our kids.

Well, you can be sure Mr. Naked did some nude sunbathing up there on

Have you contacted JFK Partners Autism and Developmental Disorders Center at

the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center? They have a

very active clinical program and research program for high-functioning

youth/teens with ASD (assessments, individual therapy, group therapy, social

skills, etc.). I used to work there before moving to New York.
