Hi , well thank you and Angi for doing this! And thanks for sharing a

few of the moments, especially where they seem to agree they won't be alone now

that they have the group friends!!

And apparently they're learning about PANDAS (LOL, that was cute!)

I think maybe we moderators might want to mention your group in our

opening/summary paragraph description for our group. Would that be okay?

encouraging each other in ways that touch my heart daily. We have the most

AMAZING kids!!!

I'm fine with that, it's a good resource to promote to new listserv

members!

And yes indeed, thanks to Angi for setting this group up and moving us forward

in new ways to help our kids!

Apparently dd told her therapist all about the kids loop yesterday at her

appointment (has extinguished four behaviors, with only one new one popping

up!), and the therapist was so enthusiastic that she asked me if it was okay for

her to pass along the group info to some of her kid clients!  So excited!

This is so great Angi! Support groups have such power to impact so many.

Thanks again for creating this forum for the kids.

Thanks for doing this!  One of the first things I wanted on here (the reason I

joined) was to get my son connected with other children with OCD.  Then I found

out that group was not in place any longer and was so disappointed.  Thank you

guys so much for picking up the ball and getting this to happen. There is

nothing greater than being able to talk with people who really get it -what a

great opportunity for our kids!

We are totally enthused and happy to be doing it.  The participating kids are

having a blast so far, and I'm hoping so lurkers will feel comfortable enough to

speak up when they're ready, too.  I want it to help our kids realize that

they're not alone, not freaks, not crazy… whatever might go through their

minds as a result of not knowing anyone else their age who deals with what they

do.  These kids are amazingly brave!  I want them to understand that!

OCDKidsLoop Update

Good Morning Parents!

Although I am relatively quiet on this listserv, because I have way too many

questions and not enough answers, lol, I have been very fortunate to become a

moderator of our OCDKidsLoop listserv. You all know how inspiring this parents'

meeting place can be...and let me assure you, our kids are inspiring and

encouraging each other in ways that touch my heart daily. We have the most

AMAZING kids!!!

Here are a few of my favorite moments thus far:

One OCD child commented:

i dont have any friends with it so i feel alone

To which a few others responded:

I feel alone to but now we have this website thats good.

I am so sorry about you having no friends but on here you can make friends and I

would like to becom a friend of yours

Also, many of our kids want to become actors/actresses, dancers, singers, and

all sorts of great things that show us the courage they have inside, even when

it's difficult for them to show it.

Another favorite moment...my daughter has established a phone friendship with

one of the other girls. The other girl mentioned PANDAS, and a little while

later I hear a giggle and my daughter says, OH, I thought you meant that your

OCD makes you crazy for Panda Bears!

Ah, to see the world through the eyes of a child is such a gift...keep

encouraging your children to join and connect. We have 12 members already, and

my blackberry starts firing off emails each evening after school (and hopefully

after homework, haha).

Thank you, for allowing me to be a small part of getting and keeping these kids

connected! Here they can talk about, and do talk about, what their OCD makes

them do, the doctors they see, the medications they take...oh, and they all

agree OCD is annoying! :-)

But of course, it is part of what makes them who they are, and we only need to

encourage the person beneath their symptoms and we'll all find our special place

in this world!
