Guest guest
That is interesting. I never thought that she might be enjoying the sounds and the reaction. He usually just cries, although sometimes he fights back too. Then the moments when she is finially being nice he goes after her and the process starts anew. My big excitement of the day, is that Arden has 2 loose teeth! For a week or so she has been saying " look at my teeth " . She sucks her thumb so I thought she was talking about that again, since I told her she was going to get funny teeth. But they just kept looking worse and worse so while I was laying in bed this morning I reached over and felt them, and they are both really loose! I was so surprised, I just didn't expect it. What an emotional thing. I found myself with tears in my eyes. She is on the cusp of her elementry days, and passing this time goodbye. Many days I wonder if I am going to be able to perservere through all this and then such a moment of utter tenderness. Such a dicotomy. wishing she would grow up and out of some of these phases and then wishing it would never end. _________________________________________________________________ http://homepage.msn.com/zune?icid=hmetagline

Guest guest
We had a student who liked the negative reaction that he got when he behaved inappropriately so he would act out to get the reaction. If we didn't respond the way he wanted the behavior would escalate to the point where we had to respond for safety reasons (his, ours and the rest of the students). So we each recorded a tape of us with the negative responses on one side and positive responses on the other. Parents did it too and sent it in. And through out the day we gave him breaks to listen to a tape (so he could get the response without acting out). He could choose who he wanted to hear and which side. Eventually he was choosing the positive side over the negative and this year doesn't even want the tapes. abbysdad42@... wrote: In a message dated 2/20/07 12:25:31 PM Eastern Standard Time, fightingautism@... writes: I don't think she enjoys them being hurt (though she may, she is a sister!) but I think she was enjoying the sound and almost studying the process of the reaction. my abby is still the same way if people argue. she thinks its the funnyest thing. i will even play argue just to make her laugh (such as lines from a movie, still a thing she likes to do). eric abbys not so tan dad

**************************************
Check out free AOL at http://free.aol.com/thenewaol/index.adp.
