Guest guest
Please bear with me as a new member--not just to the group, but to raw dairy itself... I've been reading over the archives, and I came across a link which led me to two places: the " notmilk " yahoo group, and some article written by some Dr. Kradjian (link below) wherein he discusses at length the dangers of milk, all milk! It's pretty scary (but, again, I'm new to this), particularly when he talks about the Bovine Leukemia Virus. As most of you probably know, he argues that milk is intended for use by newborn and young infants and only within their own species. This is similar to the reaction I received from a friend recently (who is otherwise a strong health and nutrition advocate). The sources I've researched, including the most recent " The Maker's Diet, " highly tout the value of raw milk (which is what led me to seek it out). But it is true that cow's milk (let's face it, intended by nature for calves) has a much higher protein content that human milk, and as a species most of us get far more protein than we need. I don't know, I'm confused. I love the raw milk that my family and I have been consuming, and I've been really excited about doing so. I just need to get a clear picture of the potential for contamination by some pretty frightening pathogens. Can anyone lead me in the right direction (time doesn't always allow to do an in-depth study at this point). Thanks. ~~ Massachusetts
