My husband Ron Garthwaite and I (Collette Cassidy) are the owners of Claravale Farm in ville California. Claravale is the only producer and distributor of pure raw Jersey milk in California. Claravale Farm began in 1927 by Peake in Monte Sereno, now a bedroom community of Silicon Valley, and survived as a last hold out from big dairying when Ron and I came along in 1996. I had known Kenny Peake for 15 years and raised 4 kids on his raw milk, while Ron had a background in genetics research and a passion for the history of dairying. We bought the dairy in l997 and moved it to ville, a more hospitable place for agriculture. Now 8 years later we're still supplying alot of happy people with this incredible milk! We are extremely passionate about what we do. We love our cows and we love the people that we meet.

I am also an acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist and so am very involved in the health benefits side of raw milk. I've been able to help alot of people by turning them on to the milk. Perhaps at a later date I will share some testimonials. I firmly believe that food is our best medicine and that this milk is the ultimate food. If any one food is a cure all - this is it! Of course, I'm preaching to the choir here. We continue to grow our herd and hope to provide as much milk as we can while still maintaining our old fashioned way of doing things. We learned most of what we do from Peake and believe it is the best way to do dairying. We are planning to build a new dairy on our property and our dream is to have it look and operate the way dairies did in the 1930s. We also plan to have a store on the farm where we can feature our products as well as those of many

other small family farms, artists, artisans and designers - but until that happens I've decided to begin creating it online. How many do you have?

ville is up north, right? I just can't remember. I know I've been

through there on one of my many dog show trips when I lived in CA. Was born

and raised there.....in L.A.
