Guest guest
, You didn't say what your background was in or why you wanted to go into the mold remediation business? I can tell you that this is not an easy field, nor is it one that should be gotten into lightly. There are a number of organizations that you can go to and " get " a certification, even some online, however, I can tell you that they aren't worth the paper they are printed on. Anything that is worth having usually requires hard work and dedication, even time. You have to put in the work. As for insurance, I am sure that there is insurance you can obtain, I am equally sure that it will cost you a lot of money. Good insurance costs money, good insurance companies require education and experience. It doesn't sound like you have either of those. I would recommend that you find a remediation company in New Jersey with a good reputation, get a job with them for a year and get some experience under your belt. Starting a business is not an easy thing to do, it's made even more difficult if you don't know the industry. So, why start a business in an industry that you don't have experience in? What is your motivation? Larkin, Self-Proclaimed Protector of the Industry. I was discussing and spending several months with a company in Ohio to bring that operation down here but things have not worked out. I am taking the IAQA CMR course in 2 weeks. Given my experience, IAQA will not give me certification for 8 months to a year. I am also planning to take a course or 2 with some other Mold Certifying courses that give certifications a lot easier. I want the IAQ because I think they can provide me with the best education but to get the company going faster I want a certification. One problem that I am running into is that in getting insurance as a mold remediator. IAQ can provide a company called Legends but they will not give me insurance until I am certified with IAQA. Can anyone suggest other companies that I can go to where I can get insurance as a mold remediator. Also, does anyone know of people who are looking for work in central NJ as mold workers? I appreciate any help or advise. Thank you. Howserv06 FAIR USE NOTICE: This site contains copyrighted material the use of which has not always been specifically authorized by the copyright owner.
