Guest guest
Just use an asbestos contractor. In most cases, it will be cheaper than a general contractor for this work. I use them for renovations all the time. They sometimes can be 1/2 the price. Shop around to find one that needs the fill in work for their crew or you will not get the price break. Henry Boyter, Jr., PhDDirector of EHS ServicesInstitute of Textile Technology fiberglass A past client is currently living in a home in which he wants to remove existing drywall & fiberglass insulation and replace it with a spray-in foam product called Icynene for the purpose of improving soundproofing. His concern, because of lung problems, is the approriate procedure in fiberglass removal to prevent fibers from entering the respiratory tract. I would appreciate any guidance to resources for this issue. He had heard that fiberglass was as dangerous as asbestos and wondered if there are standards for remediation. Any comments?
