Guest guest
Welcome Jeanette, I was delighted to read your intro. I have been living in California for half of my life now due to a marriage with a Californian (and 3 children) but I grew up in Detroit then later in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. I dreamed of getting out to the country all of my childhood in suburbia and finally am doing it now. I raise dairy goats. My father (deceased) was an auto mechanic and worked for Sears for about 30 years. I seem to remember that he worked at the Sears in Livonia during my early years then transfered near Mt. Clemens as I approached my teenage years. Somehow Livonia and Hamtramick mesh in my memory so they must be close by. I recall going to work with my Dad once. We were already suburbanites by then and I thought that Livonia was "reallly a city." I remember he laughed when I said that. You bring back many childhood memories. I also developed a taste for goat's milk and now I wince when I drink cow's milk. I think it is true that we get used to either the taste of "cow" or "goat" and after a while we don't notice it until we drink the other. I'd like to try sheep's milk one day just for the fun of it. I heard that some cheesemakers do milk sheep. Be well, Naftoli Alpenpässe Chèvres SuissesAlpine Pass Swiss Dairy Goats Yahoo! DSL Something to write home about.
