We have a small herd of LaManchas with a couple of Sables and Nubians. We all love the milk our girls give us, for drinking as well as yogurt and cheese. I love the idea of having a micro dairy so that I might supplement our income and work from home. I already make soaps and lotions from the goat milk but want to do more. But here in Texas it is very hard and expensive to grade up to be able to do this. I'm hoping to learn from what Washington state is doing with micro dairies and hopefully be able to lobby her in Texas for the same thing. Meanwhile I would love to learn what I can from people that are already do what I would love to do.
