Guest guest Posted December 8, 2006 Report Share Posted December 8, 2006 You make a number of good points but still fail to offer a means for the issuing authority [a non-profit association] to pay their bills let alone amortize the $20-40,000 it probably cost to negotiate and design the code or standard in the first place. Giving them away free as a download only simplifies the distribution but does not cover the initial cost to establish the code in the first place.
