Guest guest
Here's a beautiful quote: A word carries far, very far, deals destruction through time as the bullets go flying through space. ph Conrad You do hear babies called "lazy" all the time. So I tell the parents, something I stole from someone -- "A person who's only been out on the planet for a week cannot be anything negative. Feeding is normal function -- like breathing. You can't be lazy about breathing -- you can be having difficulty with it. Your baby is having some difficulty -- he/she's still gaining strength or patience, or sorting out the different signals they get from the breast or bottle (or whatever your thumbnail description is) and this baby is lucky that someone is helping them out.On a positive note -- a mother stopped by at a place where I work part-time, and said to me "You don't remember me, but I was in here about 3 years ago with a brand-new baby, who was screaming like a siren, all red, with her fists balled up, and you said 'Oh my, what a passionate soul -- she will do wonderful things in the world.' And every so often, when she's being a handful, my husband and I say to each other that she's being a passionate soul." Really made my day.
