I have received the below homeopath's information through Ann and am using the frenotomy tincture (homeoapthic) that she puts together to be used by both baby and mother for frenotomy. I have gotten positive feedback from moms and asked Cristi if I could post her info so that others might contact her and order from her. Her pricing is very reasonable and I'm thrilled to have something available to give moms so they don't have to mix imdividual remedies themselves and have it in hand when they take baby for frenotomy. I especially like that she sees mother and baby as a unit so both get treated. Thank you Ann for your help with my initial contact with Cristi; she is warm and caring, a beautiful person. If you're interested and would like further details from me feel free to contact me via latternerb@....

Barbara,

What is the purpose of the frenotomy tincture? Is it to calm both mother and baby before/during the procedure? Is it to ease any pain the baby might have felt? I have not heard that there is a specific frenotomy tincture and I just wonder its specific use.

Thanks!

I have been giving babies arnica, aconite and hypericum. For many years, I used

the remedies separately but now I just have mom mix them in a tincture bottle

and give immediately after clipping. I use rescue remedy before and after as

well. For mom and baby. I donlt know what remedies are in this tincture, but the

remedies reduce trauma, pain, swelling and bleeding.

Dee,

The tincture contains staphysagria, for open wounds, surgical healing, hypericum, for nerve pain, and calendula for healing. Sorry, I should have stated this the first time around. It is used for both because, in my understanding, the mother impacts the baby's emotions and baby mother's and one does not heal as effectively without the other being treated, too. A chiropractor who treats many mother/baby pairs treats both even if it is the baby with physical birth trauma and explains it this way. I believe this homeopath worked with Ann, an LC on this list I think, and this combination remedy was what was arrived at for frenotomy patients of Ann's. In the directions for use, Cristi states if this remedy doesn't work well enough that rescue remedy can be used additionally. She also told me that should any baby not respond well at all the mom can call her and she'll gather more individual traits about the baby and mom to then prescribe a more individualized remedy. So, yes, Dee it's for calming and pain. One mom whose baby had frenotomy at 3.5 mos told me she used the remedy and after his first dose (taken prior to procedure, 15 min) he subsequently opened his mouth when the dropper was near him.

I used to inform moms that they could use arnica and hypericum and make their own but thought I'd give this a try for awhile and note results. I thought it was most generous of Cristi to offer to speak to moms for a nominal fee. Hope this answers your questions.

Thanks for the additional explanation, Barbara. Sounds very interesting, especially the part about treating both mother and baby or baby doesn't heal as well.
