Why is physical exercise bad for you?

Get out there and exercise. Exercise will dampen anyone's libido if you overdo

it. Listen to your body - don't force yourself to exercise if you are tired. In

the long run it will help.

Hi,

I agree with Luther. If you run 20 miles you will have no

sexual drive whether with or without PSSD.

I believe though in doing sport in reasonable way.

Now I'm struggling with my husband's PSSD and we decided

to focus on diet, supplements and sport. It seems to work.

Someone here or on some other forum wrote about

practising yoga. To be honest yoga helped me a lot with my problem - my doctors

planned to kill me with different types of hormones. I was so depressed that I

couldn't stand that anymore and decided to focus on diet and yoga - guess

what... helped!

So now I'm doing the same with my husband. However he

won't do any yoga, he prefers gym.

The other day someone asked about alcohol.

The more I read about SSRI and PSSD the more I'm

convinced that the doctors know nothing as the information is very often

contradictory.

Check those websites:

http://www.psymed.com/ssri.html

http://www.drugawareness.org/ssris-and-alcohol.html

But I believe you wanted to know whether you can drink with

PSSD and what influence it will have on your e.g. libido.

I have no answer but can tell you what I noticed with my

husband.

He used to drink a lot (a lot and often)

before taking SSRI. Mostly because of depression.

While taking SSRI he didn't need any more so much alcohol

but he also drank, unfortunately. What I noticed then was that he couldn't

drink as much as before and he got much worse hang-over.

After quitting he still drank. I understood that he had

to drink as he got depressed from time to time. He simply felt better with

alcohol.

At that time his sexual functions went down to 0.

At the moment he is allowed to drink a small glass of

wine with a meal once a day. That's it.

We can see some change, some improvement. What we noticed is that he's got morning

erection now - he didn't have before. He has some sexual drive from time to time -

more often than before. So I think it works - I mean not drinking or drinking just little. I don't know yet as we still wait

for tremendous improvement.AgaTo: SSRIsex Sent: Monday, June 8, 2009 9:37:40 PMSubject: Why is physical exercise bad for you?

It was probably me. Exercise is good for you, but exercise when you're really tired or mentally blank isn't all that great. PSSDers don't have as many chemicals to be released than normals and we're more susceptible. Same with drinking or sex or any other activity that works either your mind or body, it exhausts you and we run out quicker. But as a general rule, yeah. Exercise is good and helps a lot (because it's fitness, and fitness is always good no matter what your problems are), just not when it's overdone.Aga's stuff about alcohol strikes a chord. I can't drink as much and it takes longer for me to recover. Teetotal is the way to go friends.Subject: Re: Why is physical exercise bad for you?To: SSRIsex Received: Tuesday, 9 June, 2009, 1:34 AM
