tongue lifter and oral exam

I was wondering if anyone uses a tongue lifter to help assess possible

tongue-tie during the infant oral exam. If so, where you get them?

Does anyone else have tips for oral exam other than the finger sweep? In

particular, any good techniques for opening the mouth without stressing baby?

I've seen some practitioners seem to do a very smooth job of opening the little

mouths, but I'm not sure exactly how they do it. A description would be

helpful.
