Glad the newbies were able to find our group! It's meant so very much to me,

great people & a vast amount of helpful information here.

Cody has not had any seizures in nearly a year now thanks to the topomax add

on to the dialantin. He's still struggling with his eye sight mid line

problems. His legs look like he could be a poster child for abused children.

I've

tried to explain to him to look sideways at the ground so he can see objects in

his way to no avail. We've got a Neuro appointment tomorrow morning to compare

MRI's, old/new to see if there has been any change in his brain formation &

activity or developement on his left side. We are doing about 3 hrs. a day of

school work out in the shop every morning while I'm trying to do some work on

the instruments. The topomax is reaking havoc on his re-call ability..... I try

so hard to get it across to him, it seems he's caught on until the next day...

I've had to go up on my meds for depression to be able to deal with it.

Patience has never been my long suite but, I " m learing. I can't remember if I

shared with the group that Cody recieved a citizenship award again this year.

This

is the second year in a row he's gotten one. I think only about 5 in each

grade level got one if I'm not mistaken. Cody's fine motor skills have improved

in

writing & staying inbetween the lines coloring much better than ever before.

I have to stay after him with constant reminders about the proper way to hold

him writing utensil..... I sound like my mom....... never thought I'd see the

day! LOL Got to find some humor in it all. <G> Cody is reading some, his

attention to task wains. If we give him a task with more than three or four

steps

he struggles..... Part of the time I think it's because he just doens't want to

do it. Hard to tell at times & hard not to loose your temper depending on

what it is. He's grown so much here lately, weighs nearly 90 lbs. He's a chunky

monkey to say the least. He's getting very strong & way to ruff playing with

him mother. I have to stay after him about ruff housing with her. He trys to

tell jokes & make people laugh.. loves to be the center of attention. It seems

he'll do something wrong just to get attention at times... I've tried talking to

him & telling him he doesn't have to do that if he " needs " me etc. Does

anyone have any tips about something like this? It drives me nearly over the

edge

when he starts this when I'm trying to work in the shop. We've started using a

point system, (which has helped a great deal). He gets 5 to start the week

off. If he does something wrong etc. depending on the severity of the offense,

we'll take off a 1/2 to a full point. If he runs out before the end of the week

he's grounded & doesn't get to spend the night with his grandparents.. It

really has made a difference in him minding to a great extent. Hope everyone is

doing well & making improvement everyday, we say one for all of our kiddo's on

the list everynight. Hugs & kisses to everyone.
