Guest guest
Dear Phyllis, I don't know about beach tires for her chair, but I have seen lots of ads for the Landeez beach/all terrain chair. After reading your message I did a MSN search for landeez, and I even found some used ones for sale. Happy vacationing. Guest guest
Phyllis, Some beaches will rent beach wheelchairs but I will warn you.... they are VERY difficult to push! My cousin has a child with severe CP and they only were able to pull her in it and when they returned it that afternoon they never rented another one for the whole trip! It was worthless to them. Now they just carry her out to the beach and prop her up in a low beach chair instead. I brought my son's Columbia medical bath seat and placed it directly on the sand at the waters edge and he loved that. But again we all ended up carry our disabled children because the beach wheelchair with it's large wheels weren't worth the trouble. -Meredith (Mom to Reese 3 years old next week with Di syndrome, PMG, Tetralogy of Fallot w/pa and various other conditions) beach tires > Hi everyone, > I was wondering if anyone knows of a place to get beach tires for > a wheelchair. loves the beach but it is so hard to push her > chair over the sand. > Phyllis > > > > > >
Guest guest
Here is a website where you can rent one of these beach wheelchairs and try it out for yourself. Maybe you will have better luck. http://www.beachwheelchair.com/locations.htm -Meredith beach tires > > > > Hi everyone, > > I was wondering if anyone knows of a place to get beach tires for > > a wheelchair. loves the beach but it is so hard to push her > > chair over the sand. > > Phyllis > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Phyllis, How old is ? We went to the ocean last summer and rented a jogger stroller with the big bike wheels for $25 for the whole week. Max was only three then but it worked great and we had no trouble on the sand. I think it would work with a child up to age six or so, but that of course depends on how large the child is. Just another idea to try. Good Luck, Joanie
