Guest guest
Hi again J I ‘d like to learn from your experience. I have a client who has a 4 mo. baby girl . She wasn’t able to breastfeed peacefully from the beginning for the several wrong advices she had L. She pumped just for a short while about on 1st month then stopped and just gave breast for bonding. Luckily she comes from the USA, so can read easily all the info on the web (much more than in Italian), very motivated, and never stopped to look for help and called me last month. She took a train with the baby girl and came to me (3 hrs!) . The baby latched pretty well considering that she took a bottle from her birth. But of course she was frustrated for the milk flow after a few minutes , crying for the bottle. I suggested the mom to take a pump and start pumping. She started to take domperidon too. The milk started to flow, with an up-and-down, and I gave her a LOT of support to cross over the ‘down’ moments. Now she writes me telling that she realized that the domperidone dose for her is not enough and she has now a better goal with a 80mg/day dose. I am a bit concerned as I don’t use so often drugs and I always knew about a 40mg dose. What do you think about? Are there higher side effects risks with such that dose?
