Guest guest
Good Day Ladies, I have a phone client that has given permission to post her dilemma for possible suggestions. We have explored other possible explanations of her decreased milk supply but have not come up with other correlations. This is her 2nd child and the following situation occurred during lactation with the 1st as well. She has stated that whenever she goes back to using regular OTC deodorant/antiperspirant products her milk supply drops dramatically.... within 24 hours . When she stops using it, her supply returns to the normal that she is accustomed to within the next day. She has used the crystal type deodorants with some topical sensitivity as well as major ineffectiveness. She is going to need to be 'pleasant smelling', as she states, when she returns to work shortly. She has stopped using the deodorants at home for now but it is not an option for the work place. Has anyone ever heard of this situation? Could there be some sort of blockage of her sweat pores that in turn affects milk supply?, lymph node irritation?, or internal allergic reaction??? I am just 'fishing' here as I have eliminated other possible causes of this dramatic supply change that she speaks of. Thank you all for listening, Caruso BS,IBCLC,RLC A Mother's Friend Company Lake Worth, Florida USA
