There's a cafe near me that uses an iPad for transactions and I sign the cc slip with my finger!  I'm sure you could imbed a sig box in a form that would allow a client to sign on an iPad...so much technology!

I'm just beginning to think about going into pp, so all these details are fascinating to me.  I take better notes by hand and can make more consistent eye-contact this way, but I do LOVE my laptop...then again, I would like a electronic record that can be emailed, etc. and I don't relish the idea of transferring notes onto the computer after the fact.

The other thing that comes to my mind is that I want to have my clients physically sign their care management plan. I like knowing that they have a hard copy (as opposed to a computer copy they could alter) and that I have a signature in the chart. Not very trusting of me but I'm thinking in terms of self protection.

Ok, geek alert, but I went to ComicCon in NYC a few weekends ago ... you know, the geek/techy/gaming mecca.   Just about every booth did their transactions and " paper work " via iPad it seemed, including signing transactions.  It was actually really cool how well managed transactions, information exchange, scheduling happened.  I have a friend who had a booth, so was privy to a lot of her planning documentation ... a believe me, I grilled her on the use of the iPad for business.

The software exists in general, I just don't see it being marketed directly to the IBCLC/home visit world ... yet. And as a consumer, I loved it -- made things so easy, so neat.  I loved the paperless aspect.  Really cool stuff out there!
