We found that the Carnitine helped keep Amalie in Ketosis better, while she was on the ketogenic diet, it also works as a laxative. However as she is now off the diet we stopped using it. I have not come across it useful to aid muscle tone, but will look into this. Meltonin is a hormone produced naturally in the brain which tells us when to go to sleep, it is available over the counter in the US but not in the UK. You can however order it on the net easy enough. We started using it a while ago on an infrequent basis, Amalie has a good sleep pattern, from 7pm to 6am every night with usually only 1 seizure. Also her neurologist suggested we could use it if needed, but we had already been using it by then. We saw no side effects, check it out with your neurologist first though.
